“ JAM was originally contracted by us to undertake the extension of a side return for a new conservatory, as well as the digging-out and tanking of our cellar in August 2009.

Jed and Marlon worked with our subcontractors and us in order to achieve the smoothest workflow possible and it is testament to them that they coped excellently with a very dynamic project environment. Jed and Marlon were always on hand to give advice and where necessary, offer alternative suggestions in order to get the job done as efficiently as possible.

Jed and his team were always on time, hardworking and fun to be around and there was always plenty of lively banter on site! They coped with a variety of requests for additional jobs to be done and kept within our agreed budgets and timescales, apart from one totally unforeseen modification to our cellar. The quality of the work has been nothing short of excellent and both my wife and I are delighted with the work that has been done.

It is rare to find tradesmen who operate in such a professional and courteous manner, stick to timescales and budget and ultimately produce such high-quality results. “ We wanted a side extension for our kitchen and needed some reliable builders who could take us from start to finish. JAM builders were recommended and from our first contact we felt confident that they would manage the total project well. They helped in all areas from listening to our needs, developing plans, submitting planning and getting planning permission. When we agreed to go ahead with building work JAM were able to start the project within 10 days. Everything ran smoothly and to time, and if there were issues - JAM dealt with it. There was always time to consult when we wanted, however, in reality, little time was needed as the project was managed well - and it helped that one of them was always contactable.

The workers who were contracted to JAM were excellent; hard working, really tidy and always helpful. (On one occasion, when we felt that a builder was not so good we found it easy to approach Jed or Marlon to discuss; and they quickly sorted the situation). JAM also worked well with other builders and suppliers (we sourced and built the kitchen from 2 different suppliers) and JAM ensured that everyone worked together to ensure lighting, decorating, tiling, underfloor heating also came together at the right time and in the right order.

On costs, JAM is not the cheapest, but they are good value for money. The project came in on budget - except when we changed the specs (!) - and these additional cost were always highlighted to us asap. Invoicing was very efficient

Overall, we are really pleased; our new kitchen has overexceeded our expectations (wow!), the quality of the work is very high and even when the end of the project seemeds to drag on a bit (doing final small touches etc) we still feel that Marlon and Jed are attentive and eager to help.
